The atmosphere at MyDesk Nadi was electric as we gathered some of Fiji’s most driven business minds to unveil a project close to our hearts: the MyDesk Launchpad Community. For too long, entrepreneurs and freelancers in Fiji have navigated their journeys in isolation. We believe that Fiji has always had the talent; what it needed was the infrastructure around that talent, the community, the knowledge, and the connections that turn potential into real, lasting impact.
Speed Networking: 120 Seconds to Success
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Speed Networking session. We moved away from traditional, sometimes awkward networking and replaced it with a high-impact structure. Guests were asked three simple but vital questions:
- Who are you?
- What business or industry are you from?
- What is your expertise?
The room came alive as professionals from across various sectors discovered collaborators, mentors, and partners in a matter of minutes. From open networking over drinks to deep-dive conversations after the formal session, the energy confirmed one thing: our community is ready to choose collaboration over competition.

The significance of this launch was echoed by our special guest, Anna Morris (Chief People Officer, Fiji Airways), who shared her support for the initiative and the importance of a structured community in today’s business landscape.
